Blonde is the hardest extension color to get right — and the most profitable once you do. In European salons, blonde and balayage shades routinely outsell natural black two to one. Here is what actually moves, and how to stock it.
The shade families that sell
- Platinum / #60 and 613 — for Nordic and Eastern European clients; needs cuticle-aligned hair to stay glossy.
- Honey blonde / #27 — the safest retail shade, matches most warm blondes.
- Caramel balayage — dark root, caramel mid, lived-in ends; the single most requested "expensive hair" look in Western Europe.
- Beige / ash root smudged — the grown-out blonde that rebooks every 8 weeks.

Order blonde the factory way
There are two routes. Pre-colored blonde arrives ready to install and is what most salons restock — see our blonde U-tip keratin line and blonde micro ring extensions. Natural color + lift means ordering uncolored virgin hair and lifting in-salon — cheaper per set, but only worth it if your colorist controls tone well, and it shortens hair life.
Ask the factory for a blonde color ring before ordering. Screen photos lie; physical swatches do not. Also specify double-drawn for blonde — thin ends show brassiness faster.
Balayage: pre-colored or hand-painted?
Pre-colored balayage extensions give consistent results and faster installs, because the gradient is already in the hair. Hand-painting balayage onto extensions in-salon costs 2–3 hours of colorist time and varies between stylists. Most salon chains now stock pre-colored balayage for volume bookings and reserve custom painting for premium clients.

Keeping blonde looking expensive
- Wash with purple shampoo every third wash, regular sulfate-free shampoo otherwise.
- Lower heat: 160°C max on blonde, brass appears faster with high heat.
- Toner refresh between installs keeps sets photographing well — important for your salon's Instagram.
- Store clip-ins flat in the original pouch; folded hair creases permanently.
Blonde extensions are where European salons make their margin. Stock the four shade families above and your rebook rate will carry the rest — ask the factory for the current blonde availability list.
