Case Study: A Salon's Tape-In Program That Cut Appointment Time in Half

Project Details

The Client

A single-location city salon with a heavy colour and blow-dry book and a constant stream of 'can you add length for the weekend' requests. Their add-on business was glue-in and clip-in pieces fitted by whoever was free, which meant appointment times slipped and the result depended entirely on which stylist picked up the client.

The Challenge

  • Glue-in pieces took 60 to 90 minutes and left residue the client hated.
  • Clip-in add-ons were fast but fell out by dinner and could not be styled up.
  • No consistent colour reference - two stylists produced two different tones on the same client.
  • Appointment overruns pushed the whole evening book back.

Our Solution

RAYLI HAIR replaced both add-ons with a single PU tape hair extension program. We trained the team on a standard tape placement pattern, mapped the salon onto one shade board so every stylist used the same reference, and supplied pre-cut tape wefts in the six shades that covered 90% of requests. A full-head tape fit became a 30 to 40 minute standard appointment instead of an open-ended glue-in, and because the tapes lie flat they could be styled up or down without showing.

The Result

Add-on appointment time dropped by roughly half, the evening book stopped overrunning, and re-booking became predictable because tape clients return for the same colour and length on a fixed cycle. Colour consistency complaints fell to near zero once the shade board was the only reference in the room. The salon later extended the same program to part-length volume work using our 100% human hair tape hair extension for finer clients.
