The Client
A European beauty distributor supplying salons and professional retailers across six countries. They had strong B2B relationships but no product of their own - every shelf they sold from carried someone else's brand, and their best-selling category, human hair extensions, was being out-competed by cheaper private-label ranges they had no control over.
The Challenge
- No manufacturing or product development capability in-house.
- A tight 60-day window to launch before the spring trade show, or lose the season.
- A colour range that had to cover 20 shades without carrying 20 separate production runs.
- Packaging that had to look like a premium brand on shelf, not a white-label bag.
Our Solution
RAYLI HAIR ran the launch end to end as an OEM programme. The base product was a single grade of virgin remy weaving chosen for consistency across shades, so one production run could feed the whole 20-colour board - we supplied the top grade virgin Brazilian hair weft as the hero SKU and the 100% human hair machine hair weft as the price-tier companion. Packaging was fully custom: printed boxes with the distributor's logo, a branded colour ring, a shade-coded barcode per colour and a wash-care insert. We ran one pre-production sample set, confirmed it against the shade board, then moved into a split production run so the first containers shipped before the full order finished.
The Result
The line launched 58 days after the first sample approval, in time for the trade show. The distributor secured shelf space in 14 retailers in the first season and became our repeat account across weaving, weft and pre-bonded categories. The single-grade strategy also cut their per-colour minimum, which meant they could restock individual shades instead of full boards - the operational benefit that mattered most after launch.
